Colors of Autumn!

LOOONG POST so be ready for my waffling!!
My MIC Cynthia post is right under this post or just click HERE.

Hello friends me again! Do you feel the fall breeze coming in?? I DO and it's my FAVORITE season!!! You give me my coffee turn on a seasonal candle and you have a happy Ruby all day!!!!
Although some days just feels like winter over here!!?? not fun :(

I wanted to share my "Autumn" take for this month DT challenge at Little Darlings Inspiration blog.

Also it's my turn to share my tips and Ideas on the Spectrum Noir Inspiration blog. I have the oh so popular Saturated Canary,"Autumn". I'm showcasing her on a bright easel card with fun fall colors.
Here come check them out my pictures and now due to the size of the card. I had to get camera happy and take as many as possible in order to get all angles lol!

Look at that fun ponytail to color!!! I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir pens :)

My sentiment is from the Little Darlings Warm Fuzzies sentiment line "Fall Harvest" Collection designed by our lovely
Mindy Baxter! I think it suits the card theme don't you think?
"Red, Orange and brown are the colors of my town. Fall is here again"!

*************************************
As I mentioned to you it was my turn to share my tips and ideas on the SN team. Do you want to see how I colored her hair? Well come on back to this post because due to bad pixs I have to re-do the whole tute, LOL!!!

You know what ...... let me just put the pictures I have now and I'll be back later to substitute them with crispier pixs.

I decided I wanted to keep the highlights in the center of her ponytail this time. My markers for this brown combo are EB5, EB8 GB2 and GB10

The first step is laying my EB5 where the shadows will more likely sit. Mainly under a falling curl, on the root of the head and where layers interlock. If you notice I only laid skipping pleats on her crown. That helps create a pulled back pony tail :)

Second, I take GB10 and pull the EB5 outward towards the center. Repeat over all the sections where you laid EB5.

Once you have done that,  go ahead and fill in the remaining white area with GB2.  Do not worry if it looks uneven at the moment.

Then repeat the same process, pulling outwards to the center, with GB2. Make sure you blend out from the edge of the darker color.

It is important you do not sit your light color on top of your darker colors, as you will loose your shading.

Now to give it a smooth blend. I personally like the tip to tip technique with these pens because they are so juicy it makes it easy to just do it this way.

If you wish to pick up ink from Acrylic block or whatever other preference is good for you, that works as well.

We need to pick up a bit of the darker color (GB10) with our lightest (GB2). Again, use the same routine of blending outward to the lightest area.
Your final step should be going back and touching up your dark colors so you do not lose the shading USE EB8 FOR DARK SHADING.

and whala this is the result to a fun ponytail.
I hope I gave you some motivation in giving this a try. As always delighted to share my tips.
Happy Coloring!

Cynthia is having a good Day!

Hi there guys!!
I have a little special card to share. I think I'm gonna have to give this another try. I was playing with sharp shadows on the gorgeous Cynthia. I might of gotten a little carried away with the shading but overall I'm satisfied with the result. Next time I think I'll keep the back shading on her left side only.

I also had to figure out the dirty blonde hair combo with my spectrum noir pens lol! I think I'm obsessed with dirty blonde hair *_*

here you can see some of the pretty gold sparkle on the chipboard wings.

I kept the shading right behind her, underneath her flowing hair, pleated dress and in between her legs.
I wish I could share a better picture of the gold glitz this card has specially the MIC Laser chip wings.
Well I hope I given you an idea where you could lay your shading on Cynthia. Mainly have fun with her and I really want to see how your take comes out.
Happy coloring.

Magnolia-licious 2 for 1 Holidays HOP!

HI Guys welcome to the Monthly Magnolia-licious Hop!!
If your here from my sweet talented friend Janiel 's blog then your doing all right.

If you wish to start at the beginning of the blog come HERE.

This time around we wanted to showcase the versatility of a single stamp.
For example take a holiday stamp and create something with it and then reinvent it in some way for another occasion or event as well.

I decided to color #241 A little Gift Tilda used for a Birthday occasion and also used for a Christmas card.

You could find her in mini right at the Magnolia-licious store now but shoot Diana an email if your interested in her in regular size.

For my Christmas card I colored Tilda with my Spectrum Noir markers and she is sitting on, MIC Winter Seat digi image

For this over sized frosty cup cake Tilda is watercolored with DI. I think it's perfect for either a bday or even a nice pressie to your sweetie.

I hope your enjoying the idea that my talented teammies and I have shared. I can't wait to see what other ideas come up from you guys!

Now I'm sending you the the one and only Cabio's blog.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you fro the sweet words.

Have fun with the coming Halloween rush UGH!!!!!! Lots of work for me lol!

Ok Have a great week((hugs))

SN recipe will come add first thing my morning I promise lol! :)

Illusion of Movement

Hello!! I'm so excited to FINALLY share this posting. I won't tell you how long it's been in draft in the MIC store blog cause I'm embarrass(gulp), LOL!!!!! Maybe a month or perhaps close to two,YIKES!!

I was eager to get this image colored and share the "illusion" of this little girl jumping.
To start I colored this MIC Digi " Girlfriends skipping" with my Spectrum Noir markers. Recipe will be shared down at the bottom.

To make the illusion that my center girl is jumping up and down is bringing her up twice on whatever software you use (I used Microsoft Word). You arrange them close to each other but the second image behind the original is the one your going to change it's transparency. Now you adjust to your liking but you want to make sure that is lighter then the original image.

Now all you have to do is to make sure that your second image is colored lighter than the first. Your blender is very handy here so make sure to blend blend blend.

I also like to eliminate the colors as I go. For example girl in center, Her shirt was colored with (Spectrum Noir) IB1,1B2,1G1 so the next image will only have a IB1 with IG1 and lots of blending and so on.

I like to add motion marks around my images to help the effect.

You could add as many images consistently lined behind the original just as long as they get lighter as the one in front.
This could definitely be done with stamping. All you have to do is
stamp your image
make sure to mask it
re-stamp behind the first image and make sure NOT to add more ink to the stamp!

Then mask that one and re do again.( I believe this is what you call second and third generation stamping If I may)

Overall you want to get to an almost no line technique. As long as you set your transparency lighter or stamp lighter you'll get the concept.

*****************************
Here are a few other cards I've done in the past with this technique.

I hope you give this a try as I assure it's not difficult at all.

I LOVE MY Daddy!!!!

OH MY GASH!!!!! OK so let me explain lol!

I had no computer!!!! We had a rain storm here and so we lost power for a day but unfortunately I guess because my computer was unexpectedly turned off  it didn't want to turn back on. I tried everyday every hour but no to avail.

Also this past weekend we left camping and got back on Monday night. It was so much fun and now looking forward to doing it again soon.OH did I tell you we did the whole tent thing too lol! Although my tent looked like a portable house lol! It was huge (fits 16 people) and I even had a folding table inside for my food and dishes lol!

OH I was saying about the computer so last night I was crafting and was about to turn the light off and I happen to walk by the computer and press to power button lightly and OMG THE DARN THING TUERND ON!!!!!! I've been trying for days and days. Finally I'm here and able to share my LD posting that should of been up since last month lol!

Ok let me share my new take on the Little Darlings Inspiration challenge.
At the time we were doing a shaped card. I created an Easel heart card using my Gypsy and cricut.

I finally got to watercolour  this totally cute Saturated Canary Image. Her name is Daddy's girl and she is available for all the rubber stamp lovers at the Little Darling store NOW.

This card was sprayed  with my new favorite toy. Crafter's Companion glitter spray. It really does pop but I'm having a hard time photographing it:(

I'll be back later on to show another late posting lol! Give me a few to catch up son some needed coffee ((smiles))
